Who
are we, what is it all about, what on earth is going on, and why did we
choose the name Sable? Last things first (that's how we like to operate
round here!)...
Sable is just a name,
nothing deeper than that, it's just a short, easily remembered, easily
typed word that got picked in a highly unscientific way about 4 years ago.
The Heraldic colour black was the real inspiration, but the Pine Marten,
also known as a Sable, seems to work far better as a mascot: small, energetic,
attractive, just like us!
Who We Are
We aim to provide an entertaining
and informative experience for as wide a range of visitors as possible.
The site owner is Mark Kerr. Contributors to the site include Russell Wood,
Roger Burnett and Jake Collins. Further content comes from a range of people
credited on their own sections of the Sable network.
What We Do
Write, design, advise, train,
inform, research. This is part personal site, part international portal,
and part portfolio. Make of it what you like, we're pleased to see you and
welcome your comments, suggestions and contributions. There is a cunning business
plan of sorts behind the site, but it's still developing.
Why We Do What We Do
Because we can, because
we like it, because it's useful both to you the visitor, but also to our
clients in other areas as a case study on how to (or how not to, depending
on your point of view) design, market and manage a Web site.

or contributions related to the Sable site.
Other Sable sites
you might enjoy - we have no connection with any of these sites nor them
with us ... (except I think they're fun...)
Not everything you see
has to make sense . . .
